ALTAR & ROSARY
Altar & Rosary Society is an organization in communion with the DCCW Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and the NCCW National Council of Catholic Women. Meetings are held every second Thursday of the month September through May. We enjoy fellowship and plan events and fundraisers. Fundraisers include the Gift Shop and the Salad Luncheon. The Altar and Rosary sewing group meet Tuesdays after mass. The proceeds from fundraisers go to maintain St. Peter Church’s altar. We encourage all women of our parish to join us.
COMPASSIONATE MINISTRY
Coordinates all visits to the sick and homebound. This ministry insures that parishioners who cannot attend Mass receive a visit and Holy Communion on Sundays.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS
Assist the Priest by distributing Holy Communion at weekend and Feast Day Holy Masses. Training is provided.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
Knights work to make a difference whether through community service, raising money or prayer. Knights meet the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. in the church basement and host a pancake breakfast monthly.
LECTORS
Lectors at St. Peter’s Catholic Church serve at all regular Sunday and Feast Day Holy Masses by proclaiming the word from scripture. If you can read out loud and are interested in serving the Parish please consider this rewarding ministry. Training is provided.
MARY UNDOER OF KNOTS MINISTRY
The purpose of this ministry is fellowship - the goal is to make hats, mittens baby blankets, prayer shawls, etc. for our parishioners, the homebound, and for those in need in our community. Knit and crochet - all skill levels are welcome. Meets on the first and third Thursday of the month at 3:00 PM in the school gym.
MASS GREETERS
We cannot take for granted or understate the benefit that we bring to the Mass by helping others feel welcomed and wanted. With cheerful hearts, a warm smile and a friendly word they put a smile on the faces of those arriving for worship disposing them to feel comfortable and welcomed.
MEAL MINISTRY
Meals are provided for anyone needing some help to get through a difficult time. This may be for a sickness, a death in the family, or caring for a new baby. When a need is identified, an email will be sent out requesting help. We will be using the “Meal Train” computer app that anyone can access online.
MUSIC MINISTRY

The music coordinator selects the music and cantors for the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Sunday Masses. She also secures vocalists and accompaniment for funeral and special events such as Christmas, Easter, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation. The coordinator assists in cantor training and in the selection of music and format for weddings and funerals.
PRAYER CHAIN
Parishioners are encouraged to call the prayer chain for specified prayers, i.e. sickness, hospitalization, deployment, employment, or death of a loved one. If you are not in need but would like to participate in this ministry please call as well.
RESPECT LIFE GROUP
Dedicated to promoting respect for human life from conception to natural death.
SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT
Our parish offers a variety of enrichment opportunities throughout the year, e.g. Bible Study, Parish Missions.
ST. PETER'S GATE
This is the welcome committee of St. Peter’s Parish. They organize a breakfast periodically throughout the year to welcome new parishioners and publish this booklet. Have ideas to share? Please join us to promote a more welcoming environment in our parish.
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
A Catholic organization of lay persons working to serve the poor, the sick, the lonely and the marginalized. They offer a food pantry on the 1st Wednesday of each month . For more information about the conference and meeting schedule, the food pantry, or other assistance please call our message number 779-970-7800. The Spanish ministry includes:
Escuela de la Cruz: School of the Cross is a response to the urgent need for the Church of mature laity, leaders committed to proclaiming the message of salvation. Meets Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in the parish center.
Comunidad Misionera en Alianza: Evangelization Ministry. Meets every Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the school music room.
Socieded de la Adoracion Nocturna: Nocturnal Adoration is an association of Catholics – no age limit – dedicated to prayer in the name of the whole community and of the Church, before the Blessed Eucharist, for the praise of God and for the needs of the church and the world at large. The night of adoration is the first Saturday of every month.
